On the other hand, at times we may need to comment upon or highlight certain points in that attached file for such cases too , as a receiver of email . Being able to write on an Email attachment can really help a great deal in good communication and avoiding the loss due wrong contents communicated.
When people refer to a file they have ‘attached’ and sent along with their email message, that is an email attachment. This can be a document, an image or a presentation. Attachments are in different forms like PDFs, Word documents, or an Excel sheet. When we say that we are writing an attachment, it means editing the contents of that file: more often than not after downloading. What tools and methods you have to use will differ depending upon the format of this attachment.

Download the Text File and Open
The Word file will be downloaded, and you can open it in Microsoft word or a compatible app like Google Docs of OpenOffice Writer.
When leaving feedback, take advantage of “Track Changes” so that any edits are recorded by the original comment without actually removing content. This is useful in a team-based work where more than one person might have to review.
Click on Track Changes button found in the Review tab, to enable ‘Track changes.
To leave comments, you can also select some text and then choose “New Comment” from the “Review” menu as shown in the following image.
Save the changes and reattach it to your email.

You can insert some data directly in the sheet, as well formulas or comments. Excel: Under the “Review” tab, there is a Comment feature where you can add some remarks without changing how data.

If the attachment is a PowerPoint file, do this.
Get File and Open it in Microsoft PowerPoint.
Your notes can be added via the “Notes” button or a direct editing of slides.

Save the presentations and then re-attach them in a reply email
